The Mug Index is an independent online mug shop based in Ottawa, Ontario. We bring together everyday coffee mugs, gifts and the occasional odd find.
Some are beautiful. Some are ridiculous. A few are both.
How it started
The shop began with local entrepreneur Josh Fine, who has owned and still runs traditional businesses. He wanted to try something different: a one-person business built with the help of AI. The Mug Index is that experiment.

Mugs from a range of brands and suppliers, with room for practical choices and personal taste. We look at shape, material, size and design, and give you the available details so you can decide what suits you.
Ottawa is our home base. The mugs come from different suppliers; being in this shop does not mean a mug was made locally. Product and delivery details are listed with each item.
A note on our recommendations
Product facts come from suppliers. Our selections are opinions, not test results. When we physically test a mug, we’ll explain what we tried and what we found.
